The role of DCS Community Relations Coordinator is to live out the mission and vision of the School and the mission of the DCS Community group (formally Parents and Friends):
The DCS Community works to build authentic Christian community and family partnerships within our Christ-centred school. We aim to do this by building strong partnerships, connecting and engaging families, providing opportunities to support and serve, fostering a Christ-centred culture and creating the best possible environment for our children's development at school. The role of DCS Community Relations Coordinator is to continue the vision and action that DCS is an authentic Christian Learning Community.
To facilitate the communication of Devonport Christian School's mission and philosophy to families, parents and students, the internal community. To be a Christian role model to other parents and families by action, word and deed. To live out DCS Community mission and vision (as stated above). To build loyalty, enthusiasm, commitment and a Christian spirit of giving amongst the parent body and wider school community. To promote and market the school, as a Christian Community, and its community events and activities. Responsible for the implementation of the relevant areas of the DCS Community Cares. Engage with parents in DCS Community connection groups including preschool activities connections. Connect parents and families through the use of the JILOA Centre and JILOA Café. Be a committed Association member of Devonport Christian School Inc. School Requirements All staff are required to:
Perform their responsibilities in a manner which reflects the School's mission, objectives and philosophy. In particular, staff are expected to role model an active Christian faith that will be demonstrated in part by an active involvement in the wider Christian Church. Be Christian role models and examples to all people associated with the School. Participate in leading School devotions that involve staff and students. Attendance at staff services and school events, including Christian professional learning and staff days. Essential Responsibilities Modeling Christian leadership and promoting the School and Christian education. Building connections and community around parents, families and DCS community members. Supporting and praying with families and parents where required. Leading the Community team and bringing value to DCS Community. Marketing and promotion of the school. Leading, developing and maintaining Community Relations Programs. Together with Principal, Board representative for DCS Community, and DCS Community Care Coordinators, plan and oversight of whole school DCS Community events. Provide leadership for Community Team members who promote and access social media sites and groups to connect DCS community with activities, communication and information about School.
