The Gig PostgreSQL Administration: Lead the administration, management, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases. Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of database systems.Database Replication: Design, implement, and support streaming replication between different geographical sites for seamless data continuity and disaster recovery.Red Hat Cluster Management: Utilize experience in Red Hat Clustering, specifically for PostgreSQL databases, to enhance system reliability and high availability.Automation: Develop scripts and automated tools for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and fine-tune database queries and configurations to ensure optimal performance.Backup and Recovery: Implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and security across different environments.Security and Compliance: Ensure databases are secure and comply with the latest security standards and best practices.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and IT support staff, to integrate database solutions into the wider IT infrastructure.About You
You're an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator with expertise in PostgreSQL (Enterprise or Community), SQL, and the implementation of robust database solutions. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on experience managing complex PostgreSQL environments, a strong understanding of Red Hat Clustering, and experience with streaming replication across multiple sites. A passion for automation in database installation and management is essential to help streamline and optimize operations.
Key Skills 2+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA with advanced skills in both SQL and PostgreSQL environments.Expertise in PostgreSQL Enterprise and/or PostgreSQL Community Edition.Strong understanding of Red Hat Clustering with PostgreSQL databases in high-availability setups.Proven experience in streaming replication across multiple locations to ensure continuous data availability.Automation proficiency in scripting tools (such as Ansible, Bash, or Python) for automated database installation and configuration.Extensive experience with SQL query optimization, troubleshooting, and database performance tuning.Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly in high-pressure environments.If this sounds like you and something you'd be interested in hearing about, apply now or reach out to ****** to find out more with pre-Christmas start dates available.
