Senior Database Administrator Permanent Role Adelaide Based Position We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join one of our clients in Adelaide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, develop, review and apply quality assurance practices to documentation to ensure accurate and up to date information is available.
Co-ordinate documentation activities across the team.
Manage continuous improvement activities on products, processes and systems, ensuring they align with the strategic goals and objectives of the business areas.
Provide strategic support and advice to key stakeholders in order to achieve objectives, working within complex organisational structures Through detailed understanding of the products implement complex and innovative solutions that take into consideration inter and intra-system dependencies Implement appropriate methods to plan and track the progress and quality of deliverables.
Ensure appropriate change management processes are in place with key stakeholders.
Actively contribute to projects as required to deliver quality business and system solutions.
Contribute to the innovative use of contemporary and emerging technologies in order to provide improved and reliable online applications.
Liaise with infrastructure specialist and other stakeholders to implement, configure, patch, secure and manage enterprise database systems.
Manage and undertake the complex tasks required to ensure the successful operation of the supported products, such as configuration, data validation, system updates and complex issue resolution.
Oversee the monitoring of processes, procedures and interfaces to ensure accurate and performant products.
Manage time critical issues with vendors, co-ordinating locally amongst other teams in ITDS User Support Provide responsive and expert support and guidance on effective use of the supported products.
Be a creditable responsive escalation point for key stakeholders.
Use enterprise systems to manage and triage incoming work to respective team members.
Build positive, collaborative relationships with key internal and externa stakeholders.
Share knowledge and experience with team members and stakeholders.
SELECTION CRITERIA Extensive experience in designing, installing and managing large corporate databases Extensive experience implementing and maintaining database security and access controls to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data assets.
Extensive experience installing, configuring and managing database and related software.
Experience designing and implementing high availability strategies, performing backups/recoveries, carrying our monitoring, tuning, cloning, scripting, patching and upgrades.
Experience in management of a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative work practices.
Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies desirable.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to provide a high-level of customer service focus and key stakeholder engagement.
Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
Desirable Experience supporting Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB with Galera Clusters or other enterprise databases Professional certifications in any of the products listed above.
Qualification/s: A relevant tertiary qualification of at least bachelor level and extensive relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and or / education / training.
