Our client, a
prominent Queensland-based company
managing significant data assets, is experiencing business growth and has created a new role reporting directly to the General Counsel and Company Secretary.
This senior position within a legal team of eight will provide expert guidance on commercial and corporate matters and support strategic initiatives focused on continuous improvement and future commercialisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Legal Advice : Provide practical legal counsel on commercial and contractual matters, privacy and data management, and internal governance practices.
Risk Management : Identify and manage legal risks arising from legal developments, regulatory focus areas, changes in law, and judicial decisions.
Legal Agreements : Develop, review, and negotiate legal agreements across diverse areas to meet the company's legal and regulatory risk management requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement : Engage with stakeholders and provide input on legislative and process changes, and general legal and industry matters relevant to the company's operations.
Collaboration : Work with Risk, Compliance, and Cyber Security teams to assist with organizational compliance and risk management, and implement legislative changes.
New Projects and Commercialisation : Collaborate with the General Counsel on major projects and initiatives.
The successful candidate will adopt a forward-thinking approach to anticipate challenges and seize opportunities, contributing to the legal function's adaptability and future readiness.
