As the Director of Infrastructure and Operations , you hold a senior executive position responsible for approximately 1000 FTE staff and report directly to the CEO. In addition to driving the growth and livability of Townsville through the direction of major infrastructure planning, maintenance and construction, project management and operations, you will play a crucial role in disaster management and business continuity planning for Townsville.
The role provides Council-wide leadership and is accountable for:
Major Projects Project Management Office Engineering and Asset Infrastructure Planning Construction Maintenance and Operations Water Resource Recovery and Property Fleet Emergency Management Your appointment as the TCC Chair of the Emergency Response Group within the Townsville Local Disaster Management Group underscores your responsibility in leading emergency response efforts and maintaining critical business activities during disruptions. With a focus on authoritative leadership, you will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement the Council's emergency disaster management response plans, ensuring alignment with community needs and principles.
Your expertise and guidance will be instrumental in navigating complex situations, fostering resilience, and safeguarding the well-being of our community.
To excel in this position, you must demonstrate a track record of adept financial and budget management, navigating various stakeholders' needs while ensuring resource optimisation. Extensive experience in overseeing multifaceted projects, encompassing planning, design, governance, cost management, implementation, and commissioning, will be vital. Your familiarity with the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangement (QDMA) and roles within the Local Disaster Management Group is crucial for effectively coordinating emergency response efforts.
Ideal candidates will possess relevant tertiary or professional qualifications in engineering, business, project management, or related fields, with postgraduate business management credentials or RPEQ certification highly valued.
