Position Summary This position is responsible for technical support and problem resolution of business-critical data, databases and database servers within the Oceania business.
Responsible for operational database administration duties, database management - including maintenance, performance optimisation and data security.
Manage and be primary lead for any Oracle or Microsoft SQL database technology installations.
Key Accountabilities Proactively identify and resolve potential system problems, taking ownership of issues through to resolution; Diagnose problems, define and co-ordinate the implementation of solutions; and engage other IT groups of external parties where required; Develop, maintain and document database backup strategies to ensure continuity and reliability Review database schemas (e.g.
tables, indexes, packages, procedures) to ensure appropriate standards are met Responsible for the necessary actions to ensure auditable procedures for application and database server resource management are produced and appropriately maintained Perform routine database failover testing to ensure standby systems are correctly configured Ensure prioritisation criteria are applied so that the most critical problems are resolved first; Investigate escalated and reported problems, and provide resolutions in an effective and timely manner; Qualifications, Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in relevant IT disciplines IT Industry-recognised certifications in the some or all of technical competencies relevant for this role 5+ years' experience in all aspects of Oracle & SQL Server Database Management and Administration including: capacity management, backup and recovery, system redundancy and disaster recovery implementation, performance optimisation and tuning; Experience with the Oracle database technologies, including RAC, OID, RMAN, GRID; Experience with the Microsoft SQL technologies, including SQL Reporting Services, SQL Analysis services; Experience in Linux and Windows Operating Systems; Experience in various scripting languages (SQL query, Shell, Perl) About DP World  Trade is the lifeblood of the global economy, creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for people around the world.
