JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team on a contracting basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of MPP databases, particularly in a technical support capacity. Postgres experience is essential, along with a proven track record in troubleshooting large enterprise systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and administer MPP databases, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.Provide technical support to customers, responding promptly to support tickets and resolving database-related issues.Conduct database troubleshooting sessions, both remotely and through screen sharing, to diagnose and resolve technical problems.Collaborate with internal teams to implement database solutions and enhancements, addressing customer needs and requirements.Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and patches, to ensure system integrity and availability.Monitor database performance and resource utilization, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.Develop and maintain documentation, including procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and support continuity.Stay informed about emerging database technologies and best practices, continuously enhancing skills and expertise in the field.JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in managing and supporting MPP databases and Postgres.Proficiency in Postgres, including experience with database administration and troubleshooting.Strong technical support skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience working with on-premises and cloud-based database environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and learning.Ability to work effectively in a remote or distributed team environment, collaborating with colleagues across different time zones.Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus but not required.SOFT SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Adaptable and flexibleOrganized and keen to details.Can work well within a team.Has the initiative and self-driveAble to work independently and under minimal supervision.#J-18808-Ljbffr
