What you'll be doing The Database Administrator manages the databases used to support cancer research, and cancer-related health-system monitoring and performance reporting activities which inform decision making and support the achievement of NSW Cancer Plan objectives. They will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the Institutes' data assets and systems and will be integral part of the team as we look to innovate our service offerings.

Essential requirements Extensive experience in the design and management of an organisation's databases in a complex shared services environment, including relevant qualifications or the equivalent. Extensive experience with the management, design, plan and implement developed software changes, upgrades, and automated procedures to improve operational capability. Understanding of Information Security Management System (ISMS) and ISO-27001 and degree in business, technology and/or equivalent experience Experience in managing the setup of performance monitoring metrics for databases including regular performance reporting to ensure environments are operated optimally and the proactive resolution to issues Knowledge and understanding of systems development methodologies and life cycles. If successful for interview, candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel. Pre-screening questions Describe a scenario where you had to present database design decisions to a technical review board. What approach did you take to prepare and communicate your rationale?
