The department is looking to engage an enthusiastic Data Solutions Specialist to join architectural practice, architecture advises and actively supports the agency's project and BAU teams, whilst also providing strategic technical direction and insight across the broader business.
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to: Leading data discovery, analysis and design activities, facilitating critical stakeholder contribution across business and technical disciplines.
Leading and contributing to the design, testing, and evolution of a range of data architecture artefacts including data dictionaries, data catalogues, data access policies, and data models.
Planning and executing data load and migration activities (using both ELT and ETL practices) to new and legacy solutions operating on a diverse range of technologies including Azure Data Stack, M365 Data Verse, On-premises SQL.
Working within an Agile (Scrum) SAFe Multi-Disciplinary team with minimum direction.
Participating in internal and external working groups, including with vendors and other government agencies to contribute to data related discussions.
Working with other team members to plan, define, manage, and refine user stories, acceptance criteria and test cases to ensure business needs are fully captured, developed, tested, and deployed.
Articulating and championing business data needs to the delivery teams.
Qualifications: Demonstrated 5+ years' experience working as an Enterprise Data Architect/Analyst within an Azure cloud data ecosystem.
Formal qualifications in data architecture from either a data science (DAMA), data engineering (Azure Data Engineering Associate), or data solutions engineering (AZ303/304) discipline.
A strong understanding of government policy and legislation pertaining to the capture, storage, use and disposal of data.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with respect to managing stakeholder engagement and delivery teams.
Demonstrated experience working within an Agile (Scrum) SAFe Multidisciplinary team with minimum direction.
Demonstrated experience working in and with Database Administration teams to establish a mutual understanding of existing SQL Infrastructure and Azure data platform.
Experience in the Design, Provisioning, configuration and management of Azure cloud-based data platforms including, Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL (MI and Elastic), Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks.
Experience in the design, provisioning, management and monitoring of Microsoft Data Verse technologies including Graph.
Designing and implementing ETL and ELT processes to migrate and consolidate new and existing data sets from on-premises SQL Server databases, flat files, Share Point, via API's and Azure data stores.
Automating deployment of data platform components using Power Shell, Dev Ops, and Azure Automation.
Documenting detailed design and processes for data platform provisioning, pipelines, and data stores.
A willingness to undergo security vetting at the Negative Vetting NV1 level.
