On behalf of our client, a leading financial services organization, we are seeking a Solution Engineer/Designer to join their innovative data solutions team on a contract basis. This is a high-impact role that operates at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, platforms, and project delivery, providing thought leadership and innovation in the design and delivery of cutting-edge data solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end solution design process, from data extraction to transformation, creating reusable data assets ready for business consumption.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, test, and support future-ready data solutions for the financial services sector.Build and maintain end-to-end batch and near real-time data pipelines.Demonstrate expertise in modern data architectures, platforms, big data, data lakes, data warehousing, ML/AI, analytics, cloud platforms, and data governance.Apply in-depth knowledge of data integration, ingestion design, data transformation techniques, and consumption patterns.Create and showcase Proof of Concepts and Working Demos to stakeholders.Lead or collaborate on workshops, consulting, and delivery engagements, ensuring successful outcomes for clients.Mentor junior consultants and provide technical leadership in delivery projects.Experience & Skills: Proven experience delivering big data platform projects, preferably in the financial services sector.Expertise in big data and cloud data lake environments.Ability to lead and own end-to-end solution design, working closely with client architects and technical teams.3+ years' experience in large and complex financial services organizations, preferably in banking.7+ years of project delivery experience involving the design and engineering of complex data processes.3+ years of experience in advanced data transformation and data quality analysis.Experience presenting solution designs in large forums and defending technical decisions.Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.Expertise in cloud platforms, Big Data Analytics (Hadoop, Azure), Python, and Apache Spark (PySpark).Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and present findings to senior stakeholders.Agile working experience with a collaborative team approach.Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Data Mesh Architecture and Domain Data Products.Experience in data analysis and data modeling (ER Modeling, 3NF, and Dimensional Data Modeling).Hands-on experience with Atlassian toolsets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket).Education: Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in data or business solutions.If you have a passion for designing innovative data solutions, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are ready to contribute to a leading financial services organization, we encourage you to apply!
