Work with the Insights & Analytics team within Chief Brand & Marketing Office.
Our team is equal part anthropologist, futurist, moderator, influencer and data scientist. We will be instrumental in driving the improvement and strategic agendas of the bank. You are responsible for the delivery of data science projects and bespoke analytical solutions that help Westpac to optimise marketing performance, improve customer engagement, and maximise commercial value. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders to identify opportunities to apply advanced analytical techniques and drive data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities Include: Deliver the end-to-end development and deployment of high impact data science projects independentlyContribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines, predictive models, and segmentation strategiesWork closely with stakeholders to understand the challenges that they face, and propose analytical solutions to help them meet their goals and objectivesConduct analysis of various datasets to extract insights that can support informed decision-makingCommunicate complex technical content, insights, project outcomes and recommendations to various audiences, including senior executivesApply a test-and-learn framework to quickly prove or disprove hypotheses, and scale up successful initiativesSupport wider team members about advanced analyticsEffectively manage risk by adhering to team risk controls and organisational risk mitigation policiesWhat's in it for me?

What do I need? Expertise in SQL is mandatory (Teradata experience is a plus)Strong hands-on capability in general programming is mandatory (Python is highly preferred)Expertise in Advanced Analytics, including but not limited to machine learning methods (supervised and unsupervised learning), regression modelling, time series analytics etc. Deep-Learning is a good plus but not mandatory.Data visualisation and dashboarding, particularly PowerBI, is a strong plusBig data platform experience (Hadoop/ Hive/ Spark etc) and Cloud platform experience is highly regarded (Azure experience is a strong plus)Customer Marketing & Analytics experience is highly desirableStrong stakeholder engagement skillStrong experience in project management and associated tooling (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Git etc)Strong presenting to various audiencesWhat's it like to work there?
