The Opportunity This is an exciting role where you will get the chance to be part of our thriving Data & Digital team.
As a Data Scientist, you will be supporting WesCEF in deriving value from its data.
Reporting to the Data Science Lead, you will be working with our diverse portfolio of businesses to understand their needs, perform relevant data analysis and build and evaluate models to solve problems.
You will be involved in challenging and business critical projects that will diversify your technical skills.
Key Responsibilities: Acquiring business insights through analysis of complex data sources.Supporting the team in advocating data literacy and data-informed culture.Providing recommendations on data quality and the adoption of new technologies.Supporting the adoption and implementation of an increased data culture baseline.Developing analysis to address business questions and problems to support data-driven decisions.Developing high quality and scalable solutions.Managing models to ensure they deliver accurate, complete and reliable insights.Producing regular reports as required and presenting key projects being undertaken and providing a synopsis of team activities.About You You will have completed relevant tertiary education in Mathematics, Statistics or Science background or demonstrated strong experience in data science projects.
In addition, you will have:
Required Skills: Strong knowledge in Python.Experience with the Cloud such as AWS or Azure ecosystem.Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical people.Strong understanding of statistical modelling, experimental design and analysis.Strong understanding of classical Machine learning models (Tree-based methods, Regression models, SVMs, Probabilistic etc.)
and verified experience in applying them to real datasets.Experience with prototyping and packaging solutions through containerization platforms such as Docker.Verified experience in building, training and fine-tuning ANNs and CNNs.Familiarity with DevOps, MLOps and CI/CD pipelines.Experience working and deploying solutions involving Knowledge Graphs.Proficiency in developing and interpreting physico-chemical simulations.Experience with the Azure ecosystem or equivalent (GCS or AWS).Experience in a Python Web Framework such as FastAPI/Flask/Django.Experience in data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.Why WesCEF At WesCEF, we offer you the opportunity to build the career you want.
