One Data Scientist opportunity within a Government Department for an initial contract to March 2025.
Your new company You will be working with a Government Department as a Data Scientist in the Supply and Demand Modelling Team.
The engagement is to finalise the development of a synthetic microsimulation & trends.
Your new role As the Data Scientist, you will be responsible for integrating and transforming disparate data sources, conducting data engineering to ensure consistency with departmental processes, and continuously refining model procedures based on feedback from executive level staff.
You will work with big data sets from a range of structured and unstructured sources to draw insights and assist with developing visualisations.
Additionally, you will work closely with the current team members to increase technical capability in output testing, model maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement.
What you'll need to succeed To be considered, you will need: Demonstrated experience and advanced proficiency using the statistical programming language R, the programming language SQL, and the use of Data Bricks to create model outputs to enable analysis.
Demonstrated experience working with very large data sets from a range of structured and unstructured sources.
Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and geographically distributed team, and to develop specialist staff in a high-performance culture.
Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to work with a wide range of people to achieve organisational goals.
Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail in producing data products.
Demonstrated experience producing supporting documentation for complex data sets.
You must be an Australian citizen and will possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a (Baseline) personnel security clearance.
