The Data Transformation and Strategy team is responsible for overall implementation of the data governance framework and standards, and providing support and oversight to business units, as they complete their responsibilities to manage the availability, usability, integrity, and security of data used across the enterprise.
The Data Quality Lead position is a critical role, responsible for delivering the data quality roadmap and implementation of data control across Optus.
This role will build strong relations and collaborate with key business partners across multiple Optus business units.
The main purpose is to transpose Data to a strategic asset and to foster an organised system that constantly provides trusted and secure ways to drive value with data, while still allowing to innovate at pace.
Your day to day will consist of...
Driving the requirements and self-manage the implementation of processes that provide oversight across the data lifecycle stages, including data creation, storage, retrieval, archiving, and disposal.
Establishing robust alignment with business unit data leads, risk management, and compliance functions to propel the integration of data governance tools and practices while providing strategic thought leadership.
Taking the lead in crafting comprehensive training materials that encompass the entire organisation to uplift data literacy and data lifecycle governance.
Developing reference materials to build a centralised best process repository, aiding in the establishment of standardised data management practices across the organisation.
Collaborating extensively with data experts from various business units and the wider Data Transformation team as well as Data Governance team to integrate data management tools and controls effectively.

Relevant professional qualifications in a relevant data-related field.
Extensive hands-on experience in data analytics; analysis, reporting and business intelligence.
Professional experience in Data Lifecycle Management, Data Governance, Data Strategy and Risk / Compliance.
Hands-on experience in developing and implementing data-related metrics and KPIs.
Experience working with relational databases and the SQL query language and advanced SQL skills.
Adept in root cause analysis and resolution of data issues.
Strong partner management and relationship building together with the ability to influence and drive adoption of new technologies and ways of working, demonstrated through knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to data management and governance.
Possess strong expertise with data management and governance roles, principles, processes and procedures.
Entrepreneurial, optimistic, creative and energetic professional with excellent verbal and written communication ability.
