This role of Data Product Manager operates within Optus' Data Strategy and Transformation Tribe, focusing on driving data innovation in a fast-paced agile environment. The Tribe strives to build next-generation data management capabilities, establishing an enterprise-wide data transformation strategy that addresses both governance and execution, ensuring that data products meet business needs while managing enterprise data risks. The Data Product Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and implementing scalable data management patterns, working closely with senior leadership to deliver data products that strengthen customer relationships and align with Optus' brand goals.
As the Data Product Manager – Data Quality, the role involves designing and coordinating processes to build a best-in-class capability in data management for Optus, incorporating industry research, technical expertise, and process optimization across Optus' brands and segments. The Product Manager will develop artefacts to supervise trends in regulatory, technical, and social landscapes, supporting senior leadership in making strategic decisions and optimizing delivery standards. This role is key in crafting a data management roadmap that prioritises regulatory compliance, customer experience, technology, risk, and efficiency, positioning Optus as a leader in data management.
Your day to day will consist of... Drive strategic, customer-focused decision-making within technical constraints, using a growth mindset and strong communication, influencing, and business partnering skills.Develop and embed scalable data management practices, implementing effective data controls and risk management strategies.Translate large-scale transformation requirements into actionable steps, supporting rapid execution of multiple initiatives.Identify and refine Optus' processes to improve data risk management and operational efficiency.Support case development and prioritisation of high-impact data management initiatives.Collaborate with data teams and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and realization of data transformation benefits across the organization.What makes you perfect for the role? Relevant formal qualifications in Data, Engineering, Science, or IT with proven experience in data management, IT, or digital fields, particularly in Agile environments, and hands-on expertise in partner management, policy application, and regulatory compliance.Strong experience in agile product delivery, with a customer-centric approach and a passion for improving customer experience.Skilled in data analysis, IT solution validation, and developing alternative solutions to meet data governance requirements.Highly organised with strong analytical, communication, and time management skills, able to manage scope, address issues, and mitigate risks effectively.A leader who takes initiative and can adapt to changing circumstances, with a collaborative approach and a strong dedication to ongoing improvement in fast-paced environments.Optus is a place where we let you do you.
