Data ModellerSalary: Competitive and based on experienceLocation: Brisbane CBDContract: 6 months, starting in JanuaryOne of our most valued clients in Queensland Government are seeking a highly skilled Data Modeller to join their dynamic and collaborative team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Director of Business Intelligence, ensuring data is structured, transformed, and optimised for reporting and analytical purposes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enabling business intelligence teams to generate meaningful insights and decision-making reports. This position is based in the vibrant Brisbane CBD.
Roles and Responsibilities Provide technical expertise to support the design and implementation of a modern data platform.Create logical and physical data models that support the creation of business reports and dashboards.Structure data optimally for reporting purposes.Define and implement data transformation logic required for preparing raw data into usable forms for reporting.Ensure that the data models are optimised for fast and efficient querying.Work with data architects, DevOps, data engineers to design and develop integrated data applications and ETL processes.Drive automation by using innovative tools and techniques to streamline data preparation and integration tasks.Map data from various transactional and operational source systems into the data model.The ideal candidate Demonstrated expertise in creating data models (logical, physical) for reporting purposes.Familiarity with database design principles such as normalization, denormalization, star and snowflake schema (Kimball modelling), entity relationship modelling, and reference data management.Experience in designing and implementing large scale data loading, manipulation, processing, analysis and exploration data solutions.Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.Understanding of master data management principles and processes.Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.What's next:Ready for the next step in your career?
