The Data Management Lead will work with technical specialists and other stakeholders across Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) leading and supporting work through which VLA can improve and embed its data governance and data management. Full time maximum term position up to June 2026 (part time considered) Salary based on experience, range $123,625 - $157,340  plus super Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role: The Data Management Lead will deliver projects and activities which improve our operations and deliver on our strategic goals that support VLA's continued data management maturation but will also be responsible for identifying and implementing additional activities which can support VLA's data management and data governance practices. They will be responsible for further improvements to our Data Governance Framework and relevant policies and processes, and the embedding of these across VLA practice, working closely with our Data and Digital Information Governance team.  This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country, and can also be based at our Regional Offices. About you: As our ideal candidate: You are a data governance lead with substantial experience in data management best practice. You will lead and demonstrate high calibre data capability and drive to ensure that reliable data is applied to inform and assist VLA in decision making. You will lead the design, implementation and improvement of frameworks, policies, and process which support VLA to improve the way it captures, manages, maintain, and uses data across its lifecycle, including both digital and paper-based data and information assets. You will have a track record of striving to understand the work and context of your organisation to inform your approach. You will have high level interpersonal skills including the ability to provide clear, informed and timely advice to stakeholders at all levels. Crucial to your success will be your highly developed leadership skills and ability to foster collaborative and influential relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders to support the strategic data requirements of the organisation.
