  The Compliance & Enforcement Division partners with diverse stakeholders to monitor risks and strengthen compliance, using a range of strategies from education to enforcement to protect Australia's economy, trade, environment, and agriculture.
Our Audit and Assurance Branch (AAB) manages audits and assurance activities, focusing on biosecurity, imported food, and export risks.
With around 80 experts across Australia, AAB leads risk-based audits, control testing, and illegal logging assessments to ensure that our regulatory systems are robust.
This is where you play an important role.  As a Data and Analytics Manager, you will support these efforts by coordinating targeted audits, analysing data to prioritize high-risk areas, and oversee compliance cases.
You will build and maintain data needs, produce performance reports, and present insights through analysis.
Additionally, support other crucial functions within the AAB by maintaining work support tools and responding to ad-hoc data and information requests.
What you'll do: · Analyse audit data to identify key priorities, trends, and performance outcomes.
· Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, using SQL for data visualisation and reporting.
· Prepare and present reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring data is effectively communicated.
· Collaborate with departments to gather necessary information and support audit-related data collection.
· Provide advice and reports to senior executives, contributing to strategic priorities and governance.
Skills and Capabilities: · Strong SQL skills with extensive expertise in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and views, along with database development and maintenance to enhance data analysis.
· Experience in assessing data quality, including cleaning and removing data to accurately identify trends and patterns.
·Proficient in building and maintaining business intelligence reports and dashboards using Power BI, Report Builder, and advanced DAX calculations.
·Skilled in communicating complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Ability to deliver incremental production changes regularly while adapting to changing demands and priorities.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail, coupled with high-level written and verbal communication abilities for engaging with stakeholders.
