Manager, Data Governance: Full Time Position - Paying up to $150,000 + 11.5% superannuation Reporting to the Chief Data and Insights Officer, the Manager of Data Governance will establish data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines, and will set up and administer the governance framework for data products across the client. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a data quality management framework, data risk management, data privacy and ethics, and data literacy. The incumbent will manage a team and provide support throughout the organisation to enhance data maturity, including setting up and running divisional and executive data governance forums. You will ensure that data governance services align with the client's strategic priorities.
This is a senior management role for an experienced data governance manager who wants to contribute to the client's success. Working closely with the CDIO, you will lead and manage a team through change to ensure a positive organisational culture while achieving the highest standards of performance and integrity. You will also foster genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and the community to deliver organisational outcomes.
Some key responsibilities: Develop and implement a robust data governance framework to ensure data quality, data risk management, data integrity, and security across the client.Create and implement a data ownership model, including the establishment of data domains, to govern data products across the organization.Establish and administer divisional and executive data governance forums.Collaborate with teams such as Technology, Risk, Operations, and Science to establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures, while also providing guidance and support on addressing data quality issues.Work closely with other unit managers (Manager of Data Strategy, Management & Transformation; Manager of Analytics; and Manager of Intelligence and Insights) to independently assess and provide guidance on the governance of data products.Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data literacy throughout the organization.Provide guidance on best data practices to other parts of the organization and work closely with the Data Architect to implement data governance tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation, etc.).Lead and manage the Governance team to achieve high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity. Manage resource allocation, budgets, business and project planning, and reporting, while demonstrating a strong commitment to a positive culture and staff development.Undertake administrative processes and other tasks as directed to effectively achieve regulatory outcomes, ensuring compliance with all government and client policies and procedures, including financial management, occupational health and safety, and conduct.To succeed in this position you will have: A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications is desirable.A proven record of achievement in a senior management role leading a business unit/enterprise through change to achieve high performance and a positive organisational culture.Leadership experience and a record of achievement in leading a data governance function.Knowledge of data governance framework and methodologies (DAMA/DCAM).Prior experience with Azure, Databricks and cloud-based data governance tools (e.g. Informatica, Alation, Collibra etc) is advantageous.Proven ability to apply relevant government legislation, regulations, reporting directives and procedures, to achieve optimal organisational outcomes.Ability to implement performance management and development frameworks than manage staff performance, build organisational capability, and support individual development objectives; create and promote an environment that appropriately balances teamwork and individual accountability; provides timely, constructive, and objective feedback. #J-18808-Ljbffr
