We need your skills.CHALLENGEReporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, the incumbent will be involved in data governance and data protection activities, as well as monitoring, incident response and data protection risk management. The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of information security concepts.More specifically, the Data Governance and Protection Analyst's main responsibilities will include :Managing, implementing and configuring technological tools for data protection and loss prevention;Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of data governance and data protection policies, procedures and processes, to effectively manage data across the organization;Conduct data protection risk assessments and impact assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with data privacy laws (e.g., PIPEDA) and UNI's frameworks;Collaborate with various stakeholders to implement and manage data security measures, including encryption, access controls and data loss prevention technologies;Monitor data access and usage to detect and respond quickly to security incidents or breaches;Coordinate with external suppliers and service providers to ensure they comply with our data protection standards and legal requirements;Provide training and awareness programs to inform employees about data protection best practices and regulatory obligations;Keeping up to date with changes in data protection laws and advise on necessary adjustments to policies and practices;Conduct reviews of governance and data protection measures to identify areas for improvement;Keeping up to date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities and best practices;Produce regular reports on information security monitoring activities;Collaborate with other IT teams, to ensure that security best practices are integrated into all projects.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information security or related field.Possess three (3) to five (5) years of experiences in information security or a related IT field.Familiarity with common security tools (e.g. Spirion, Microsoft purview).Understanding of security principles, techniques and technologies.Knowledge of information security frameworks and standards.Strong logical reasoning, decision-making and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in both official languages, written and oral communication skills in English and French.Equivalent training and work experience will be considered.BEHAVIORAL SKILLS Action oriented Learns fast Demonstrate professional rigor and attention to detail Empower others and selfMaster interpersonal relationsManage complexityPlan and coordinateMastering technologyADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGECertifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISM, CISSP.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS and Azure).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Understanding of security principles, techniques and technologies.Familiarity with common security tools.WORKING CONDITIONSAll applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Brunswick on the expected date of hire.
