About the Role Technology plays a critical role in the delivery of AGL's strategy, helping our customers decarbonise the way they live, move and work and transitioning our generation portfolio.
Our Cloud Analytics and Data Platforms Technology team is currently on a mission to transform our data governance capabilities across AGL. We have an exciting new opportunity for a data governance champion to join us and help us on this transformative journey.
If you're passionate about fostering a culture of data stewardship and ready to lead the effort in building and strengthening our data governance framework, this is your opportunity to make an impact. We're looking for an analyst who has a strong understanding of data management principles, delivering data governance initiatives and providing training and guidance on best practices.
What you'll be doing Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding program for new data stewards Design and deliver training sessions on data governance policies, best practices, and tools for data stewards and other stakeholders Serve as a point of contact for data stewards, addressing questions and providing guidance on data governance processes and tools Monitor the performance and effectiveness of data stewardship activities, providing feedback and coaching as needed Facilitate regular check-ins and workshops to discuss challenges, share successes, and promote collaboration among data stewards Ensure that data management practices comply with relevant regulations and standards, monitor and assess data quality metrics, identify data quality issues, and work with data owners to resolve them Prepare and present reports on data governance activities, data quality, and compliance status. About you What you'll bring: Background in information management, business intelligence or related discipline Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices Strong understanding of data modelling, data mapping, and data structures. Familiarity with data governance tools such as Purview, Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms and frameworks, such as DAMA-DMBOK. Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data management practices, data quality best practices and industry standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
