About the Role: We are looking for a Data Engineer (Python) to support and improve our reporting pipeline, using Python to integrate data from multiple sources. We need someone who can troubleshoot, redesign the process, and ensure it meets SLAs. This role requires independence and the ability to improve long-term stability with minimal ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities: Support and maintain the existing Python-based data pipeline, ensuring SLAs are met and issues are quickly resolved.Re-write and redesign the current processes to improve stability and minimize direct intervention.Work independently and be self-sufficient, as the team lacks the specific skills required for this process. Key Skills: Strong experience in Python.Experience with a scheduling tool (ideally Control-M, but experience with others is acceptable).Experience in large, complex environments, understanding best practices and processes used by large organisations.Cloud experience, ideally with Azure.Snowflake experience is good to have.Ability to work independently, ideally with prior experience in support-focused data roles. This is a mid-level position, but the person should be able to work autonomously and drive improvements to existing processes.
To be successful in this role, you'll need: Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a support-focused data role.Strong Python programming skills.Familiarity with scheduling tools, preferably Control-M.Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and large-scale environments.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.A proactive approach to process improvement and automation.Azure or Snowflake experience would be beneficial.
