The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing business. This newly created position will be pivotal in building and maintaining our data assets to enable better business outcomes through data driven insights.
As a business, we have been using data to power our decision-making for several years, but we are seeking to take this to the next level by assembling a team dedicated to collecting, transforming, storing, analysing and using data to help direct the activities and resources used by our team to achieve our outcomes.
As our Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a data warehouse that acts as the foundation for our data-driven initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to shape a data model to unify disparate datasets and provide a cohesive view of the business. You will work with analysts and business leaders to help streamline processes through data and technology. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic input into the design of data and technology infrastructure, policies and modelling to support Data, IT and business objectivesDevelop and maintain data pipelines using ETL/ELT, automation and integration software to ingest and curate data from on-premise, cloud, internal and external sourcesUtilise knowledge of data warehouse design and data modelling techniques to build and maintain our data warehouseConfigure systems to support business processes, improvements and enhancements while maintaining robust security measuresWork with business analysts to build data products and reports to meet business needsContribute to data quality and governance initiatives that enhance the value of our data assetsEnsure documentation relating to data lineage, data models and data definitions is maintained and up to dateAbout You To be the right candidate you will need to demonstrate the following:
Proven experience in a similar role, handling data engineering tasksA degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physical SciencesProficiency in SQL Server for database management and experience developing data modelsProficiency in writing efficient SQL queries and scriptsExperience with data integration tools to connect/maintain datasets and applicationsAn analytical mindset with robust problem-solving skillsA commitment to continuous learning and professional developmentPermanent full-time, secure roleFlexible working arrangement for the right candidateGenerous discounts on quality productsEmployee assistance program (EAP) for you and your familyA strong friendly team-based cultureFree on-site parkingOur preference is for this role to be full-time and based at our head office in Regency Park SA, but for the right candidate we would be open to discussing part-time and/or hybrid options.
