Data Engineer

Position Summary As Data is becoming more and more critical to gleam insights and assist decision makers, the Data engineer will design and architect data models, own data ingest and ETL pipelines and assist with the presentation of data through PowerBI models.
They will get excited about the firms' data and the endless possibilities that it brings through educating and consulting with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Act as a subject matter expert in data engineering and technologies within the firmDesign and develop business intelligence PowerBI dashboard reporting modelsArchitect data models, storage, both within the Data Warehouse and future Data LakeCreate and maintain the implementation of optimal data pipelines from a wide variety of systems covering SQL/APIsBuild the infrastructure required to support data pipelinesEducate internal stakeholders on the value data and identify business opportunitiesMaintain and assist in the data model documentation of the firms Master Data Management (MDM) and data governanceKeep up-to-date with emerging technology and trends in dataBe a point of escalation point for all IT support teamsEnsure site SLA's on support issues are keptTo work outside normal hours where necessaryTravel to other RSM offices as necessary Education Requirements: Essential Relevant Tertiary qualification in IT or Business Demonstrated Experience & Attributes Essential 2-5 years experience in a software or data engineerWeb API'sStrong level of SQLMicrosoft PowerBIExperience with Azure Cloud (Data Factory)Ability to work under pressure in short periods of time.Self-Starter with the ability to work autonomously as well as with a team.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships.Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Knowledge and understanding of trends and developments in I.T.A willingness to work flexible hours.
