The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the RoleThe Data Engineer is responsible for maintaining, securing and operating databases and ensuring that data is correctly stored and retrieved. This role also involves identifying trends through data analysis and generating visualisations of maintenance metrics for reporting to the superintendent. The Data Engineer plays a critical role in establishing the data infrastructure and framework to optimise maintenance and inspection management.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in data science, information systems, or related fieldsWhite CardExperienceExperience in database administration or a similar role, including database maintenance, backup, security and performance optimisationExperience working with computerised maintenance management systems as well as data analysis and visualisation tools, including Excel, Access and Power BIExperience cross checking data from different sources and summarising for high level presentationsRequired CompetenciesStrong mathematical, numeracy and problem-solving skillsExceptional analytical skills to identify trends, patterns and insights from dataIntermediate understanding of SAPUnderstanding of reporting and data visualisation tools such as Business Objects, Power BI and Tableau.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formula creation and troubleshooting, Power Query, Power Pivot or VBA scripting knowledge preferredHigh attention to detailInitiative and proactive natureOutstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environmentWell-developed time management skillsCore Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesCreate visualisations of maintenance metrics to be prepared in a report for workshop superintendent.Establish a data infrastructure and framework to improve maintenance and inspection management.Analyse data for trends and patterns to assist in identifying maintenance shortfalls and providing maintenance solutions.Collect relevant structured and unstructured maintenance data to develop solutions tailored to meet the maintenance departments outcomes.Enhance the data collection processes within the maintenance department.Process, verify and cleanse data to ensure accurate reporting of maintenance metrics.Assist in managing the P&E "Computer Maintenance Management Software" across the project.Assist the maintenance engineering team in processing parts requests, liaising between workshop staff and Project Engineer, managing parts manual subscriptions, formulating electronic service sheets, facilitating asset registration and ensuring pressure vessel and Cranesafe compliances.The above listed authorities and responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.
