Requirements The CIO Division provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses and is seeking an experienced and motivated data engineer to assist with the delivery of various ICT Projects across the Division.
The Data Platforms section within the CIO Division provides a range of data services and platforms for the Department, to enable downstream data-related activities and requirements. The section manages the Data Management and Analytics (DMA) Platform, Data Science Platform, Power BI Platform, and Intech geospatial platform. This collection of platforms provides a range of capabilities to ensure the department has modern, cloud-based technologies that enable and enhance their data-driven initiatives.
Data engineers engage closely with various stakeholders, business subject matter experts, technical architects, cloud engineers, and developers, to deliver the agreed platform outcomes.
As a Data Engineer, you will be required to:
Define data solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL Managed Instance, and work in the Data Platforms section to deliver these solutions. Assist in the migration of existing data processes (Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services) to the new platform (Azure Synapse Analytics). Understand DevOps processes and use DevOps tools in accordance with the agreed processes. Develop and maintain relevant project and design documentation such as detailed designs, technical configuration documents, and build and support guides. Work within the Data Platforms section to consume and implement recommended practices to ensure compliance with data and information management standards. Apply judgment and critical thinking skills to problem-solve. Have demonstrated government sector experience, including working in small teams. Have relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in information technology, data analysis, data management, or related fields. For more details, please contact:
