About the role We are excited to announce a key opportunity at Orica for a Data Engineer within our Digital Solutions team focused on delivering quality data ingestion, processing and visualization solutions. Orica's Digital Solutions seamlessly connects our customers' physical and digital worlds so they can readily understand and optimise their operations at every step of the value chain, from exploration to processing, empowering smarter, data-driven decisions.
We seek a Data Engineer who thrives on ensuring operational excellence and reliability. You will work with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Subject Matter Experts to deliver valuable insights to our customers. Your role will involve designing and implementing data pipelines, managing data workflows, and ensuring optimal performance and scalability of our data solutions to meet the analytical needs of our customers.
The team is a mixture of remote and hybrid (Newcastle based). You will work with other teams geographically distributed across Australia and overseas.
What you will be doing The Data Engineer role involves identifying areas of improvement in data pipeline efficiency and performance within Azure Data Factory. This includes engaging with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and implementing effective data integration and transformation solutions. Collaboration with internal teams and customers is essential for the successful implementation and maintenance of data pipelines.
This role also requires assessing, troubleshooting, and optimizing data workflows and CI/CD processes across platforms such as Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
What you will bring Azure Data Factory experience. Azure Machine Learning experience. Azure DevOps experience. Python development experience. MySQL administration experience. Experience in Azure Cloud Application architecture. Preferably in multi-tenanted SaaS. Effective communication skills. Experience with Data Bricks is desirable. Experience with deploying ML workloads to IoT devices is desirable. Experience with ISO-27001 compliance is desirable.
