The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing business. This newly created position will be pivotal in building and maintaining our data assets to enable better business outcomes through data driven insights.
As a business, we have been using data to power our decision-making for several years, but we are seeking to take this to the next level by assembling a team dedicated to collecting, transforming, storing, analysing and using data to help direct the activities and resources used by our team to achieve our outcomes.
As our Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a data warehouse that acts as the foundation for our data-driven initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to shape a data model to unify disparate datasets and provide a cohesive view of the business. You will work with analysts and business leaders to help streamline processes through data and technology. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic input into the design of data and technology infrastructure, policies and modelling to support Data, IT and business objectives Develop and maintain data pipelines using ETL/ELT, automation and integration software to ingest and curate data from on-premise, cloud, internal and external sources Utilise knowledge of data warehouse design and data modelling techniques to build and maintain our data warehouse Configure systems to support business processes, improvements and enhancements while maintaining robust security measures Work with business analysts to build data products and reports to meet business needs Contribute to data quality and governance initiatives that enhance the value of our data assets Ensure documentation relating to data lineage, data models and data definitions is maintained and up to date About You To be the right candidate you will need to demonstrate the following:
Proven experience in a similar role, handling data engineering tasks A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physical Sciences Proficiency in SQL Server for database management and experience developing data models Proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries and scripts Experience with data integration tools to connect/maintain datasets and applications An analytical mindset with robust problem-solving skills A commitment to continuous learning and professional development Permanent full-time, secure role Flexible working arrangement for the right candidate Generous discounts on quality products Employee assistance program (EAP) for you and your family A strong friendly team-based culture Free on-site parking Our preference is for this role to be full-time and based at our head office in Regency Park SA, but for the right candidate we would be open to discussing part-time and/or hybrid options.
