About the RoleAs a Data Engineer in our Reporting and Oversight team, you'll provide Suncorp Bank users with high quality, well-structured and well-maintained customer complaints data, to enable Suncorp Bank to fulfill its obligations to our customers, communities and shareholders.
This will be achieved through the maintenance and development of the Customer Complaints and Advocacy data and the assistance to business analytics users in its effective and efficient utilisation.
The role will work across the entire data life cycle: from source system and data teams through to business analytics end users.

Work Hours: Full-time (Hybrid) What will your day look like?As a Data Engineer, you will:
Maintain existing and develop new data assetsEnsure all assets conform to existing patternsIdentify and help resolve issues in the source dataIdentify and leverage opportunities in the source dataDevelop and maintain data process documentationMaintain data dictionary and integrate with Bank dictionaryDevelop and maintain a RAID logWork with business stakeholders to better utilise complaints dataAct as SME on productionising complaints data, including external data sourcesWhat will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Demonstrated relevant experience: 1-3 years in a data centric role performing data engineering or data analytics across disparate data sources to solve business problemsIntermediate technical capability in SQL, Python and MS ExcelUnderstanding of the end-to-end journey of data from system input through to outputs and insights, including database structures and database management principlesKnowledge of project management practices desiredExperience working in complaints, risk management and/or data governance desiredAdaptable and able to get up to speed quickly on new processesStrong problem solving and analytical skills with an attention to detailEagerness to solve complex problems that are ambiguous and may require creative solutionsWillingness to learn and adopt new methods and technologiesAbility to work autonomously where required, as well as collaborativelyAbility to prioritise workload and meet agreed timeframesGood presentation and communication skillsBusiness acumen and industry knowledge with an understanding of business processes and productsYou're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
