Job Description
Services Australia (the agency) Data Directors drive change management, project management, and governance using an evidence-based approach in the Data and Analytics Division. They get the opportunity to use the agency's data holdings (big administrative data sets) to solve complex problems and drive agency strategy and decision making, which has a real impact on our customers.
The agency's data and analytical staff work across a range of business areas and provide support by collecting, designing, analysing, and reporting information. Data and analytical staff are responsible for key strategic projects or functions, and provide advice based on extensive analysis of data and information to support decision making across the agency. They use an investigative approach and work with their teams to develop and implement solutions to complex matters and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policy and frameworks.
Data Directors lead a program of work with a number of staff and deliver against various projects concurrently. They have a sound understanding of the agency, its customers, and the business, to ensure they and their teams drive improved customer outcomes.
Data Directors are integral in building the capability of others, have expertise in current tools, methods and technologies, while also having the ability to understand new technology and ensure they impart this knowledge to others.
