The team The Data Governance team is responsible for developing and implementing ASIC's data strategy.
The team works collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to develop data policies, principles and standards to optimise the capture, share, and use of data in ASIC.
The team oversees a data governance program to protect ASIC's data assets and manage risk.
The role As a Data Compliance and Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust systems, methods, and metrics to monitor compliance with organizational policies, standards, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
This includes managing and conducting thorough control testing to verify adherence to these policies and frameworks, identifying and addressing any compliance gaps, and recommending corrective actions.
Additionally, the Data Compliance and Assurance Analyst will be required to extract and analyse data to assess risk and control effectiveness, utilizing AI and data analytics tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of compliance monitoring.
You will be accountable for: * Developing and implementing systems, methods and metrics for monitoring of compliance with policies, standards, procedures and risk management frameworks, defining technologies, security controls, and operating protocols that protect data hosted in the cloud from loss, inappropriate alteration, or misuse * Establishing the data risk control framework and managing and conducting control testing and compliance with policies, standards, and risk frameworks * Implementing the AI Assurance framework, developing and implementing a control testing framework for AI systems * Reviewing AI assurance documentation and supporting the business to complete AI assurance and risk documentation * Extracting and analysing data to report on risk and control effectiveness and preparing reports for the Risk Committee, AI Board, and Data Governance Council and Executive Committees * Performing function of secretariat for ASIC's AI Assurance Board, including co-ordination and compilation of reports and papers for the Board meetings * Assisting with Data Ethics discussions and associated reporting and assurance processes About you * Tertiary qualifications in a field such as risk and compliance, information or data management, data science, auditing, or similar discipline involving compliance and assurance management and governance of data * Experience in data risk management and/or development of compliance and assurance frameworks for data and/or artificial intelligence (AI) systems * Understanding of Australian Government requirements for AI Assurance and familiarity with privacy legislation * Technical ability to extract and analyse complex data sets from multiple sources, data platforms or databases, to identify data related risks and build reports for risk and compliance reporting * Experience developing and reporting on control testing activities * Well-developed problem solving and analytical thinking and time management skills * Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders * Proficiency with solutions for business intelligence products (Power BI, Qlik etc) and willingness to further develop these skills About ASIC ASIC's remit is one of the broadest of regulators across the world.
