About the role The Brisbane Broncos are seeking a Data & Cloud Specialist to join our Data & Technology Services Department. The purpose of this role is to assist the department in overseeing integrity, optimisation, automation and integration of data sets and databases across all applications and cloud solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design, implement and optimise integration architecture. Overseeing data flows between Applications, ensuring the scope of data sets, automation latency, and cadence are aligned with business needs. Assisting in management of data governance policies to maintain information stored in databases. Ensuring compliance with Data Governance Framework and other relevant regulations. Assisting the team in managing design and implementing a comprehensive cloud architecture. Supporting development and maintenance of a cloud strategy roadmap. Implementing and enforcing cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations. Developing and conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities. Developing and implementing automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations, reduce manual interventions, and improve efficiency. Performing ad hoc tasks as required. Selection Criteria To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience as a Data or Cloud Architect or equivalent technical consulting experience. Led complex technical projects or built and delivered prototypes in Google Cloud, Azure or AWS. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. Deep knowledge of cloud services, architectures, and best practices – including compute, storage, databases, networking, security, and DevOps. Proficiency in database tools such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MS SQL. Experience in Data Lake, Data Warehouse or Data Lakehouse design and/or implementation.
