Job Description As a Data Centre Engineer, you will work as part of our enterprise data centre team to audit our existing data centre footprints and establish a new data centre presence.
You will conduct infrastructure and cabling maintenance, installations, white space administration and conduct power and HVAC analysis.
You will also be responsible for helping create standard operating procedures to establish the governance and procedures of our new data centre.
What You'll Do: This role will see you undertake the following responsibilities on a regular basis, in addition to other ad hoc activities relevant to a Data Centre Engineer position.
Installation, termination, testing and labelling of all cross-connects (CAT6, Fibre, MDF phone line) in the IBX.
Hardware installation including: shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, and ICT equipment.
Undertake physical audits and update CMDB and other relevant systems.
Undertake power and cooling assessments.
Report on current status via the ticketing system, create and distribute relevant shift reports.
Assist in the co-ordination of a constant cycle of large infrastructure deployments.
Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain collocation space cleanliness.
Qualifications What You'll Need to Succeed Experience in establishing new data centres for the hosting of critical ICT services.
Experience in Defence Datacenters and associated technical, logistical processes and protocols.
Working knowledge of Power IQ and DC Track.
Positive attitude who enjoys working in a team.
Ability to perform manual handling, climb ladders and lift 25 kilos.
Must be flexible to work nights and weekends during transition periods.
IT or Telecommunication qualification – degree or diploma preferred.
This role will require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen with a current Baseline clearance and ability to obtain an NV1 clearance.
