Mater Research is looking for a Data Manager and Biostatistician to join the team!
This 12-month, part-time (22.5 hours per week) role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.
Mater Research is a recognised leader in medical research.
Our bench to bedside philosophy sees us working across Mater Health's hospitals and health services, The University of Queensland, and the world-class Translational Research Institute (TRI).
The Data Manager position will be positioned in the observational longitudinal birth cohort - the Queensland Family Research Cohort Project.
Large, longitudinal data sets of families birthing in Queensland, which include the follow-up of each family member, including partners and their baby, are required to be analysed and published to help understand the multitude of factors that can influence healthy growth and early risk factors for disease for Queensland families.
A bachelor's degree and postgraduate studies in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant workplace experience are required.

Statistical analysis knowledgeAbility to conduct clinical research to ensure consistency and adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)An ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and technical expertise related to the research specialtyHigh-level written and verbal communication skillsA high level of interpersonal skills necessary for negotiating and liaising effectively with a diverse range of staff, patients, and other stakeholdersDemonstrate excellent time management and project management skillsStrong digital literacy skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Suite (Illustrator)Mater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
