Data Architect Contract

Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne 12 + 12 + 12 month contract with some WFH Baseline Security Clearance required Our client, a large and well funded Federal Government entity focused agriculture is seeking a Data Architect to join their team in February.
Responsibilities: Work with a high-performing multi-disciplinary team of platform engineers, data engineers, data scientists to design & develop an analytics platform for modern analytics needs including data science pipelines and real time analytics.
Lead engagement with the department's Digital Services Division, as well as other reviewers of the platform.
Hands-on discovery, testing and implementation of new technologies, including the development of any bespoke automation as needed.
Develop, document and maintain architectural plans.
Criteria: Analytics architecture – proven ability to uplift a traditional warehouse to an effective modern analytics platform.
Expected skills include high-level visioning, documentation, convincing stakeholders and participating in any automation development to make the platform components work together.
The architect creates a custom solution tailored to the unique challenges and ability of the team.
Hands-on development essential in the team's code-first environment.
Data science deployment – experience designing solutions to deploy data science outputs, such as machine learning models, natural language processing, or entity resolution algorithms, in a production setting.
Collaboration + Team Work – ability to work independently with limited guidance to create self-direction in uncertain and rapidly changing environments, displaying the characteristics of creativity and resilience.
