DescriptionThe Role:Navantia Australia currently has an exciting opportunity for a Data and Software Manager to join the team out of its Garden Island, Sydney office. The Data and Software Manager is responsible for ensuring that the delivered and accepted Configuration Baseline Data (CBD) is accurate and usable for Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) support. You will also be responsible for maintaining the CBD, residing within the Information technology (IT) systems on the Defence Protected Network (DPN), throughout the AOR Life of Type (LOT). The Data and Software Manager will also support the data/software interface between Navantia Corporate and the Commonwealth DPN.In this role, you will:Responsible for the coordination, accuracy, Verification and Validation (V&V) of the AOR support system, including all CBD developed during the AOR Acquisition program, to meet the requirements for Configuration and Data Management services under the Support Contract.Validate AOR data to ensure that the CBD is accurate and fit-for-purpose.Support transition of the CBD from Acquisition to Sustainment.Liaise and advise the Commonwealth regarding Data Management aspects of the AOR support system.Author and maintain AOR support system Data and Software Management plans/processes.Coordinate and support the internal Data Management Systems (DMS) used on the program such as Windchill and PUMA.Support (liaise with and coordinate/facilitate) Commonwealth and Navantia Corporate IT staff regarding the Defence DPN and DMS interfaces.Develop reports and conduct detailed analysis on the CBD residing in the DPN IT systems, and initiate changes as required through the Engineering Change Process.Perform CBD changes on behalf of the AOR Team as part of the Engineering Change Process.Provide advice on engineering change scope to ensure all CBD is updated as appropriate.Perform reviews (data integrity) of CBD changes by others within the AOR Team, as part of the Engineering Change Process.Align everyday data and software management activities with the asset management policy to ensure that we deliver value through output focus, we align capabilities to meet customer expectations, we provide a consistent level of assurance and actively seek opportunities to be a learning organization.As the ideal candidate, you will have:Tertiary qualification (degree with a specialty in IT)Previous experience in Defence IT systems is essential.Proven skills and experience in undertaking Data Management activities.Understanding of Systems Engineering, Configuration & Data Management.Sound knowledge in data management, data analysis, interfaces and Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes/procedures.Working knowledge in Naval systems (such as Configuration Management Tool-Unified (CMT-U) and Asset Management and Planning System (AMPS).Knowledge in the Naval Engineering Change Process.Sound understanding of Seaworthiness.Ability to work collaboratively but also operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance.Role Type
