About the Job
We are seeking a Data and AI Governance Specialist to lead enterprise-level initiatives in data and AI.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement frameworks and tools that enable effective data use, driving better performance across the business.
You'll also empower teams to leverage quality data while ensuring the safe and ethical use of AI.
About Technology
The Technology group oversees governance, risk management, and business performance, leading technology strategy and portfolio management. They ensure efficient program delivery and drive digital transformation for exceptional customer outcomes aligned with corporate strategies and regulatory obligations.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Put safety above all else
Develop and implement data and AI governance processes, systems and practices
Oversee data governance compliance and measurement
Collaborate with technology and data architecture teams
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across the organisation
Ensure data and AI governance is integrated into change management for data & analytics projects, working with the change lead to address key impacts and keep stakeholders informed.
Your Success in This Role Will Come From:
A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar Data and AI Governance role.
Tertiary qualifications in business management, data governance, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, especially in complex or high-stakes situations.
Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships and networks across diverse stakeholders.
A deep understanding of the impacts of people, process, and technology in the successful delivery of data and analytics projects.
Experience in delivering Technology projects, with a focus on data governance and/or AI governance frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment in reviewing business processes, interpreting legislation, and developing and implementing systems that meet governance standards. – Desirable.
Familiarity with government and ESCOSA regulations and SA Water's governance framework, with the ability to apply this knowledge to enhance compliance and governance initiatives. – Desirable.
