Data Analyst/Scientist

Two Data Analyst/Scientist roles with a Government Department for an initial 3-month contract 12 months Your new company You will be working with a Government Department as a Data Analyst/Scientist in the Data Science Section which is responsible for developing and applying innovative data analytics techniques to facilitate data-driven policy and program development and evaluation. Your new role As a Data Analyst/Scientist, you will be responsible for performing data analysis, debug, upgrade and develop R, R Shiny data products and data pipelines in R. Identify data analytics opportunities and convert these to innovative products that provide high value insights into policy, programs and service delivery challenges. Present and communicate analytics findings to a broad range of audiences including technical and non-technical stakeholders and senior management through both live presentations and written reports. Operate, monitor and maintain a range of data products, including dashboards and reports. What you'll need to succeed To be considered, you will need: Advanced R programming skills Experienced in the use of version control tools such as Bitbucket Experienced in developing statistical models Ability to rapidly understand large code bases in R Experience using R to create data pipelines Strong data wrangling skills with R Experience working in a software engineering / development team Model deployment experience Experienced in the use of time series forecasting techniques Experience with R Shiny You must be an Australian citizen and will possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a (Baseline) personnel security clearance. What you'll get in return In return, you will secure a competitive hourly rate with an initial contract to 30 June 2024 with a 12-month extension option.
