Join GenWest to lead our data improvement projects and provide expert advice to our executive team. Our Data Analyst Lead role is available for one-year (covering maternity leave) on a fixed-term part-time (up to 0.9) basis. The salary for this role is a SCHADS Level 7 ($115,626.68-$120,447.03 pro rata), plus superannuation and up to $15,990 salary sacrificing. GenWest provides services for victim-survivors of family violence, runs programs to improve women's health and wellbeing and advocates for gender equality.
This role reports to the Manager – Evaluation and Policy and is part of our Impact and Evidence team. This team supports GenWest to improve its services and programs by evaluating and researching what women and children in our community need. This team advocates to our decision-makers to advance gender equality.
You will be responsible for:
Leading projects to improve data systems and practices across GenWest. Designing and maintaining data reports in Power BI on family violence service delivery to inform program improvements. Providing expert advice, recommendations and evidence to GenWest's executive team, board and others at GenWest. Providing expert advice, especially on quantitative methods, and contributing to the management of evaluation and research projects. Gathering, organising, analysing, interpreting and presenting data, especially quantitative data, and making recommendations to improve programs and inform strategic decisions. Managing relationships and contracts with external partners, including software and IT consultants. Minimum qualifications include:
Tertiary qualifications in data science or social sciences research, or comparable, significant experience in social sciences research or evaluation. High-level skills in gathering, organising, analysing, interpreting and presenting data, especially quantitative data. Significant experience in improving data systems and practice across multiple teams, including ensuring the ongoing maintenance of data systems is sustainable. Skills in, or the ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Power BI to connect data sources, clean and organise datasets and automate data reports. High-level skills in research and evaluation design and implementation, and in generating recommendations to inform and influence strategic and operational decision making. Significant experience in managing complex projects, including collaborating with and influencing others, and supervising staff. High-level written and verbal communication skills with a range of audiences and purposes. Working with Children Check. Police check (and international police check if you have lived overseas for a year or more in the last 10 years). Skills in using SocialSuite to design data collection tools and data visuals.
