At Star Aviation, our Airport Manager oversees daily airport operations carried out by our below and above-wing teams. This pivotal role emphasizes operational, financial, and safety objectives, in addition to ensuring and maintaining exceptionally high standards of customer and internal services are delivered and targets are exceeded.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the day-to-day ground handling operation of Star Aviation at its respective port.Investigate delays and service failures and work with the relevant teams to resolve.Ensure all Fleet Presentation and Ground Handling Agreements are current and reflect the contracted activities.Ensure staff levels are appropriate for operational requirements.Manage Operational Coordinators, Resource Allocators along with Duty Managers to ensure appropriate oversight of daily operations.Attend to Airline supplier requirements in a contractual manner ensuring both contractual obligations along with Service Delivery.Assisting with the calculation of budgets and cost models.Ensure staff and other resources are planned and utilised effectively considering schedule delivery, cost and service levels are maintained.Develop and maintain relationships with key airport personnel, liaising with airport operators to ensure airport facilities meet Star's requirements.Management of GSE Responsible for GSE that is used for operational purposes at the airport.Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment.Follow the reporting process for any equipment malfunction.People Management Lead and manage the team operationally to ensure compliance with the contractual obligations.Drive a safety culture across the team.Manage performance issues and ensure staff are competent in their roles.Training In collaboration with the National Fleet Presentation Manager and Head of Airports, identify any training needs.Schedule appropriate training sessions for training delivery and verification.Prepare for, conduct and document both training delivery and assessments, using the approved airline training program to address company's training needs.Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience in above and below-wing operations.Demonstrated success in team management and leadership.Experience in implementing business improvements and change management strategies.Certificate III in Aviation (Ground Operations and Service).Valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).Valid Authority to Drive Airside Card (ADA).Senior First Aid certification.Competencies and Skills: Operational proficiency in Ground Handling and/or Fleet Presentation requirements.Comprehensive understanding of the Aviation Industry.Strong organisation and time management abilities.Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines.Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.Adaptability to changing priorities and situations.Works effectively in a fast-paced team environment.Awareness of EEO, Discrimination, and WHS Legislation.Understanding or awareness of Health and Safety and Manual Handling.Report writing skills in plain and clear English.High-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite.Behavioural Attributes: Excellent communication and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders.Reliable and punctual.Positive, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.Flexible in adapting to change.Solutions-focused.Customer and people-focused.Remains calm under pressure.Effective team player.Courteous and timely in responses to colleagues.On Offer: Opportunity to be part of a family-oriented business where you are truly valued.Ongoing career training and development with in-house programs.Discounts and benefits across travel, retail, lifestyle and other areas, from a huge variety of companies, including SpecSavers, Contiki Holidays, Hello Fresh, Koala Furniture and many more! #J-18808-Ljbffr
