On behalf of our client, Caguioa Enterprise Pty Ltd is seeking applicants for Agricultural Technicians, Dairy Farmers, Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Operators, and Dairy Cattle Farm Operators to join their team located in Regional Victoria.
Positions Available: Dairy Farm Positions
Dairy Farmers: Applicants must have at least a Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of relevant experience.Agricultural Technicians: Applicants must have at least a Diploma or 3 years of relevant experience.Senior Dairy Farm Operators: Applicants must have at least a relevant AQF Certificate III (or equivalent) and at least two (2) years of recent and relevant work experience or at least five (3) years of recent and relevant work experience.Dairy Cattle Farm Operators: Applicants must have at least a relevant AQF Certificate II or III (or equivalent) or at least one (1) year full-time of recent and relevant work experience.All applicants must meet the following criteria: Patient, Hardworking, Resourceful, Trustworthy, Loyal, EfficientUnderstanding and passion for the Dairy industryPrevious experience in a similar roleConstant monitoring of the Dairy FarmSound knowledge in Farming Techniques and ManagementDemonstrate a broad and coherent body of knowledge of milk source and compositionIn-depth understanding of the safety and quality factors that determine the acceptability of dairy products by consumersTo be able to work and communicate effectively as part of a teamDuties for Dairy Farmers: Supervision of Animal Husbandry and Feed ManagementManaging all dairy cattle, heifers, dry cows, and calvesManaging plant equipment and infrastructure maintenanceAchieving agreed budgeted and physical performance targetsManaging milk harvesting, milk quality, and staff rostersEnsuring compliance with workplace and OH&S LegislationAdhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Duties for Agricultural Technicians: Manage the feeding program for springing cowsInspecting and monitoring growth rates against targetsNutrient Management PlanningArranging supply of vaccines, mineral supplements, and other appropriate animal husbandryOrganise mating program for rising 2-year-oldsRecord all treatments to meet quality assurance requirements and farm policySelect cows for Artificial Insemination, assist with semen selection, mark inseminated cows, and keep insemination recordsApply heat detection aids, identify, record, mark, and draft cows on heat, segregate and prepare for inseminationDuties for Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Operators: Plan all aspects of milk production processes including management and coordination of milking shed routinesCoordinate and implement reproductive programs, including artificial insemination and herd fertility management, detection of estrous and pregnancyAssist in controlled breeding experiments to develop improved livestock strainsImplement calving procedures, including the ability to physically conduct unsupervised internal assessments to minimise the incidence of still births or injuries to cow or calfPlan and manage pastures and crops for livestock production and develop livestock feeding plansAnalyse produce to set and maintain standards of qualitySupervise animal health programs, handle sick or injured animals and maintain an optimal environment for the wellbeing of livestock consistent with the Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines – CattleDuties for Dairy Cattle Farm Operators: Read and record instrument information i.e. Milk vat temperatures and cow numbersUndertake multiple functions, produce a quality outcome e.g. Farm machineryOperate milking plant and equipmentOperate standard measuring equipmentKnow general scientific terminology and assist with processes such as machine repair, artificial insemination, fertiliser mix design etc.Operate computerized system using menu optionsA remuneration package is between $65,835 to $90,000 plus Superannuation, which will be negotiated depending on skills and experience.
