We are a dedicated and passionate family-owned dairy farm near Nanneella in norther Victoria, operating with a herd of 400-500 cows. Committed to profitability, sustainability and the well-being of our animals, we are seeking a proactive Dairy Farm Manager to join our business. The manager will be working closely alongside the farm owner and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our partial mixed rotion and grazing farm, overseeing and participating in a mix of hands-on farm work and staff management.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES: Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of daily farm operations, including animal care, milking, feeding, machinery operation and grazing. Ensure adherence to high standards of animal welfare, efficiency and safety. Staff Management: Foster positive and productive team environment while managing staff schedules and assignments. Strategic Decision-Making: Collaborate with the farm owners to provide input into strategic management decisions. Demonstrate leadership in implementing agreed-upon strategies and initiatives. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records related to farm operation such as herd health and reproduction. REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience in managing a dairy farm, with focus on hands-on farm work and staff management. Strong understanding of dairy farming practices, animal husbandry and farm management software. Excellent leadership and communication skills must speak English, with the ability to lead and inspire a team. Ability to balance hands-on farm work with managerial responsibilities, demonstrating adaptability and effective time management. A genuine passion for sustainable farming, animal welfare and safety.
