TRT Group Dairies are currently seeking a Farm Manager for a dairy farm in NW Tasmania Australia, located 30 minutes from Smithton. The farm operates approximately 1000+ha across two dairies, this role will be responsible for one of those two dairies. This dairy is currently milking 700 cross-bred cows, through a 50-stand rotary shed with an easy dairy system. The farm is primarily pasture-based with grain fed in the dairy.
A three bedroom family home located on the farm will be available for the right employee and we may have employment opportunities for your partner on our nearby farms if required.

This role will include tasks in the areas of:
Be proactive in developing and take responsibility for your on-farm team.
Take a lead role and be proactive in identifying and dealing with management issues as they arise.
Continually strive to improve time management and operational efficiencies.
Be aware of pasture availability/covers, growth rates, and rotation lengths. You should be continually assessing the herd pasture requirements.
Machinery operation.
Repairs and maintenance.
Work health and safety.
Qualifications
The desired skills and experience for this opportunity are:
Extensive dairy industry experience (a minimum of 3 years).
Tertiary qualification(s) in Agriculture or a related field is desired.
Committed to ensuring a safe workplace.
Reliable and punctual and ability to take responsibility.
Good work ethic and positive attitude.
Leadership skills and team player.
