Part Time contract (1 day a week) starting ASAP until 10th December 2024
Work between Monday to Friday, business hours
Supportive multi-disciplinary team - more than just Drug & Alcohol

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to exercise and boost their skills working at Villawood, NSW.




The Role


You will provide psychological support services to persons with substance use issues in our Immigration Detention centre clinic. Key responsibilities:

Deliver evidence-based psychological services through assessment, case formulation and case management, structured interview techniques and therapeutic interventions.
Triage referrals; conduct D&A assessments; follow-up persons with identified D&A issues.
Ensure D&A protocols are followed and for people deemed to be 'at risk', ensure that their needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner.
Ensure high standards of psychological care are delivered through individual sessions or in group therapy; administration of psychometric instruments and self-report measures etc.
Provide clinical reports to internal and external stakeholders when required.

Requirements



Full working rights in Australia and current general APHRA registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Minimum of 3 years post registration experience and experience with working with patient with substance use issues or in a D&A setting.
Experience in providing relevant supportive and therapeutic counselling, and psychosocial interventions.
Skills in D&A assessment and intervention (motivational interviewing, contingency management, other intensive psychosocial therapies) and MH risk assessment.
SMART Recovery facilitator – highly desirable or willing to obtain.
Current First Aid/BLS certificate or willingness to obtain.
