Legal Services is a central team within Children, Youth, and Families Division supporting a range of legal activities across the Child, Youth, and Family Safety Branch and the Youth Justice and Adolescent Services Branch.
The Legal Officer is responsible for the provision of legal service delivery including the management of litigation, appearing in routine court matters, briefing contested matters to the ACT Government Solicitors' Office, providing training for Practitioners on legal aspects of their role, including preparation for Court. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Experience and/or a desire to work in a community services environment is essential.Admission (or eligibility for admission) as a barrister and/or solicitor of Australian Supreme Court is highly desirable.Experience in the preparation of court documents and knowledge of the court and tribunal system and relevant procedures is desirable.Notes: A merit pool may be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
