The Cyber Security Specialist Practitioner is responsible for the coordination and delivery of a range of specialised cyber security services resulting in safe and secure implementation of ICT projects across the department.With a hybrid working arrangement and a convenient base in Chatswood, this role offers a balance of flexibility and collaboration in a dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide Information Security Services (ISS) within the Service Delivery directorate, specialising in cyber security subject matter expertise to NSW Gov.
organisations.Undertake and communicate the outcome of risk assessments, ensuring that cyber security risks are identified, owned, and met with appropriate risk treatment plans.Support the development and implementation of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) that ensure compliance with cyber security strategies, frameworks, policies, guidelines, and directives.Maintain expertise in emerging cybersecurity risks, trends, and technologies, and provide a broad understanding of all business risks and threats to inform high-quality, expert advice to key stakeholders.Ensure meetings and contracts are scheduled in a timely manner to facilitate ongoing compliance of cyber security reporting, policy, audits, certifications, and related legislation.Negotiate, influence, and collaborate with other teams, clients, and vendors to create positive engagement and ensure appropriate expectations and deadlines are met.Support the Cyber Security Management team and the Chief Information Security Officer in exercising their duties.Skills and Experience RequiredFacilitate engagement on providing cyber security specialist services across the organisation, balancing competing demands to achieve business objectives, and establishing effective stakeholder relationships.Work within an environment where technologies are subject to rapid evolution and change, identifying technology solutions that improve service efficiency and effectiveness.Establish collaborative and influential relationships with stakeholders, customers, and colleagues to ensure effective achievement of team/project/business goals.Create and maintain a constructive workplace culture in a rapidly changing and demanding service provision.What's On OfferA 6-month contract with a competitive daily rate of up to $1,100 excluding super.Hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a mix of remote and in-office work.Convenient location in Chatswood, easily accessible by public transport.Opportunity to contribute to a critical government initiative enhancing cybersecurity across NSW.How to ApplyIf you are passionate about protecting critical systems and data, driving privacy compliance, and fostering a secure digital ecosystem, we'd love to hear from you.
