Cybersecurity Consultant - contract job in Adelaide until 2025 - Vulnerability Management Planning
Your new role
The Cybersecurity Consultant will play a critical role in enhancing the cybersecurity posture.
This position requires a blend of technical knowledge and a strategic focus with strong analytical skills to process information, analyse data, and draw actionable conclusions.
The consultant will focus on developing and implementing a comprehensive Vulnerability Management Plan (VMP) to identify, assess, prioritise, and remediate vulnerabilities within the network.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Cybersecurity Planning: Develop and implement advanced cybersecurity strategies
Vulnerability Management Plan: Lead the development and execution of the VMP, detailing how they will identify, assess, prioritise, and process network vulnerabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various stakeholders to understand current vulnerability management practices and gather insights for improvement.
Conduct regular meetings and discussions to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Risk Management: Conduct in-depth risk assessments using sophisticated tools and methodologies.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring continuous risk monitoring and adaptive responses.
Incident Response and Forensics: Lead the development of incident response protocols and manage cybersecurity incidents with a focus on advanced threat detection and forensic analysis.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage and resolve incidents.
Documentation and Recommendations: Document current vulnerability management practices and provide clear, actionable recommendations for improvement.
Develop a detailed plan covering the entire lifecycle from detection to remediation.
Technology Assessment and Integration: Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge security technologies and solutions.
Provide technical recommendations to enhance the organization's cybersecurity infrastructure.
What you'll need to succeed
Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
Expertise in threat modelling, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on technical detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
