Cyber Security Data Curator

The key duties of the position include:The RoleThe Directorate Cyber Security Strategy and Program (DCSSP) is seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals with a passion for cyber security, who would like to be part of a team supporting and maintaining cyber security data capabilities across Defence.
Your role as Cyber Security Data Curator include:


Delivering support for a critical cyber ICT platform;
Responding and engaging to Requests for Information;
Interpreting and analysing large sets of data;
Data management within the Defence ICT Environment;
Collaborating, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams;
Conducting data analysis and reporting;
Deliver continuous improvements for inventory management;
Prioritising tasks and delivering agreed outcomes in a timely manner;
Generating innovative and practical solutions to problems in alignment with business outcomes; and
Supporting the operations and sustainment of the inventory system.
The successful candidate will be required to commence employment on site, with the possibility of flexible work arrangements in the futureThis role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About our TeamWithin the Joint Capability Group (JCG), the Directorate of Cyber Security Strategy and Programs is a small but influential team responsible for delivering the Cyber Security Program, and implementing the enterprise-wide actions from the Defence Cyber Security Strategy.
The Directorate of Cyber Security Strategy and Program provides strategic guidance, policy advice and operating principles relating to cybersecurity for Defence.
The strategic intent of the Directorate is to enhance Defence's cybersecurity framework and supporting policy.
This will enable effective maturity assessment of Defence's cybersecurity capability and in turn, dynamic updates to Defence's Cybersecurity Strategy and Action Plan.
Currently the Directorate is responsible for several ICT projects as well as supporting the implementation of the action items stemming from the National Defence Strategy (NDS).
Our Ideal CandidateWe are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Data curator, who can provide support services and analytics to Defence users of Cyber Capability Systems.

Have demonstrated critical thinking skills, be inquisitive, and possess comprehensive analytical skills;
Be able to identify and understand data relationships;
Have good oral and written communication skills;
Have demonstrated understanding of risk, including the development and/or usage of frameworks, governance, and workflows;
Be able to handle highly sensitive information in accordance with government security requirements;
Establish and maintain effective and productive collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that recommendations are relevant to the Defence mission; and
Possess a working understanding of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) environments.
EligibilitySecurity ClearanceApplicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance of 'Negative Vetting 1'.
