The key duties of the position include:The RoleThe Directorate Cyber Security Strategy and Program (DCSSP) is seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals with a passion for cyber security, who are keen to be part of a team delivering essential improvements to address cyber security across Defence.
General duties include:


Work within a team to support the development and implementation of the Defence Cyber Security Strategy and broader Defence Cyber Security strategic initiatives;
Support to stakeholder engagement, planning, reporting, governance and assurance activities and champion opportunities to mature;
Support the development of high quality communication material including artefacts, executive briefings, and reporting outputs;
Support the coordination outcomes in cyber security capability management, people and future-focused initiatives;
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams;
Leverage various project management methodologies to deliver organisational outcomes;
Support the development of cyber security roadmaps and business development to improve Defence's cyber security and related initiatives; and
Prioritise tasks and ensure timely delivery of agree outcomes.
The successful candidate will be required to commence employment on site, with the possibility of flexible work arrangements in the future.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About our TeamCyber Security Strategy and Program (CSSP) within the Joint Capabilities Group (JCG), the Directorate of CSSP is a small but influential team responsible for the development of the Defence Cyber Security Strategy and delivery of the associated Cyber Security Program.
CSSP delivers a critical function supporting Defence's strategic direction and ensuring it maintains a robust and contemporary cyber security posture.
CSSP is externally focused and forward thinking, driving initiatives to address both the impacts and opportunities presented by the evolving geo-strategic, cyber threat and technology landscape.
CSSP provides strategic guidance, advice and operating principles relating to cyber security for Department of Defence.
The strategic intent of the Directorate is to enhance Defence's cyber security framework and supporting policy.
This will enable effective maturity assessment of Defence's cyber security capability and in turn, dynamic updates to Defence's Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan.
Our Ideal CandidateWe are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated APS 5, who:


Has an understanding of Australia's unique cyber strategic environment;
Understanding of cyber security principles and best practices;
Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team;
Communicating and coordinating strategic direction and initiatives;
Collaboration and engagement with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Understanding of risk frameworks, technologies and governance;
Critical thinking, design thinking and analytical skills;
Has demonstrated research proficiency and high attention to detail;
Has knowledge of the National Defence Strategy (NDS), the Defence Cyber Security Strategy, and the Australian Cyber Security Strategy (is desirable); and
Can use initiative to work flexibly and autonomously to deliver on work objectives within set timeframes.
EligibilitySecurity Clearance:Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
