About the role The Cyber Security Analyst will be part of a specialised team tasked with performing comprehensive cyber risk assessments on key technology components. This role is instrumental in fulfilling the security requirements outlined in the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) while working to deliver system authorisations in a secure and compliant manner. They will be responsible for safeguarding sensitive ICT systems and ensuring the highest standards of security across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Identify, test, and assess security controls in compliance with the Australian Government PSPF, ISM, and relevant agency policies. Analyse and document cyber security risks, providing recommendations to improve security practices and procedures. Contribute to the system authorisation process through the development or review of security documentation such as Threat and Risk Assessments (TRA) and System Security Plans (SSP). Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align security strategies with business objectives. Develop and implement security policies and procedures to enhance the organisation's overall security posture. Promote security awareness by educating staff on policies and processes, ensuring compliance across departments. Skills and Experience Extensive experience with risk and information security frameworks, such as PSPF, ISM, and ISO 27001/2. Demonstrated expertise in conducting security threat assessments and developing security authorisation artefacts. Proven security experience in complex ICT environments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Understanding of global cyber security trends, attack vectors, and best practices. Experience in Federal Government environments is highly desirable.
